Default Diff Lockers

I was wondering about installing diff lockers in my truck but I'm exactly sure if its nessecsry and if I did is it something I can do on my own or do I have to custom work some parts of th diff?
And are there front diff lockers?

Are you going to be offroading or...? Why do you want a locker?
Detroit lockers are usually the most recommended, at least for our trucks anyways. They make 'em for front and rear.
You can also get a selectable front diff locker from ARB so you can engage/disengage whenever you want instead of running it all the time.

You don't need custom parts. Read thru some installation instructions and see if it's something you can do. If not, send it to a drivetrain shop.

What is the type of wheeling you're intending? Mud, ruts, etc.? I don't think you have rocks like we have out here. Daily driving too? Trail rig only?

Some lockers you can do yourself, while others you might consider a reputable shop for particular tools. Presses, diff case spreader, dial indicators, etc.

Detroit lockers
Positraction aid
Limited Slip
Selectable Lockers (Air for ARB and Ox, electronic for can't remember)
Spool...
Lincoln Locker
Lunchbox locker

DD == no spool, no lincoln, maybe lunchbox

If you've looked at them there, then you have a feel for prices. You can obtain online the install manuals to get an idea on the process and tools. You having a 2500 helps already given front D60 and rear D70.

Look at the manuals to answer your original question. Yes, there are front lockers too.

Go to this thread, the 2nd post and find a link to just servicing Dana70.

Find the part number and look it up.

Regardless, your rear D70 is 32 spline. So you'd have to get the right powertrax if available or upgrade your axleshafts.

Do you have a D70 rear as I'm assuming you have a gas engine.

You might be missing a number or its a different number that is needed to completely identify the axle, which is called the BOM or Bill of Materials
