Try getting a loan for 12K on that old a truck......because if someone had cash, they would spend the 12K on something newer...just saying....

That depends on the deals. Lots of $10k or near that off MSRP makes new look attractive and the loss over time is not a great. Back in 2009 I bought my 1500 for $10k off MSRP and got dealer to handle the sales tax as well. That was $1800. I started looking at used and when I saw the deals out there went right to new.

Well my buddy mikes new Cummins lost 27% of its value BEFORE he bought it

I see 3rd gens around here asking more than what he paid for that rig.

I'm not sure you understand... Mike bought a brand new Cummins for less than what some 4-5 yr old trucks are askng in price. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Um? Well... ER... Wombat glad your friend got such a good deal. I priced out a 2012 RAM 3500, and it totalled $75,000 (!). No way I am gonna go for that!

i got that part, but it wasn't new new either lol. as in he didn;t buy a fully loaded 2013 :P

that and when you buy new, it costs even more to have your ride decked out with all available options...like factory heated leather, power everything, 6-spd, overload springs, towing package, sport package, etc... each option costs thousands extra, and some sucker had to pay full price for that, and that sucker was not me

Good point Jigabop. Yeah I like a loaded truck if I get one. But please, leave out the leather seats!

leather is nice

lasts soo much longer. looks soo much nicer, and soo much easier to clean...

windex and a paper towel is all I need to clean up a spill.

try cleanin a spill off of cloth with anything less than carpet cleaner...PITA...
