Why I drive a dodge
Well the other day I picked up a boat from a neighbor, it's a 17' aqua sport from 2000 the guy used it minimally for the first couple years and stopped using it sometime in 2004. Well I have been working on it since and put a bunch of time and some money into it. And one of the things that needed to go was a little over 17 gallons of gas from 2004.
Well seeing how my truck had less than a 1/4 of a tank and you have to pay to dump gas down here I figured I would save some money both ways and fill up my truck. Well I'm almost done with my tank of gas and the truck never even noticed it was sucking down gas that's close to 9 years old. When it's ready the dodge will be dragging it to the damn boat ramp too.
Do I advocate this....No....but I was expecting some misfiring and it to run like **** until I put fresh gas in the truck but it hasn't missed a beat. Oh and shotty pic of the boat for you picture lovers.

Um no the gas did not smell fine but it didn't smell as bad as e-10, and yes since the gas was from 04 it was pre ethanol which is the only reason I was so brave. It does have a funny smell from the exhaust though. 80 mph down the interstate and no difference says the truck drinks what you give it.
just remember that if you have an injector plug up. that is why i like my 81. i can just tear the carb apart for free, blow things out and then be back in business in no time if i put bad gas in it.
i don't know when they started using e10 but i have heard you can get ethanol free 87 octane gas at boat gas stations. up here in canada you can get ethanol free 91 octane gas at almost every gas station.

Yeah we have ethanol free down here at select stations, I live just north of the keys which is pretty much the saltwater fishing Capitol of the US. I planned on sea foaming after the tank but I'm not sure I'm gonna need it, like I said very surprised it has ran so well
They started using the ethanol blend as the corrupt corporate farm industry wanted more tax dollars(corporate welfare at the expense of taxpayers and consumers)....Thank you Archer-Daniels Midland and Cargill.......(and they promised it would LOWER gas prices.....)

around here we have 87 octane without ethanol. i never have to add fuel stabilizer. 89 octane contains ethanol and if i dont put stabilizer in it it smells bad in about a week. big difference.
