Default ***Fuel pump power issues***

I have a 01 Ram 1500 5.2L, my fuel pump relay messed up some how and won't allow the fuel pump to shut off when the truck is off. I went and got a new relay and with the new relay the fuel pump won't come on at all!!! I check the voltage to the relay for the constant power terminal and I was getting 12v, checked voltage to the switch terminal and with the key in the RUN position I get 12v but for some reason the new relay won't engage and click over. We tried several new relays to make sure it wasn't a bad relay same issue. I've been in and out of the wiring diagrams and asked buddies who can't figure it out either. Any thoughts??

this is strange.
your new relay - is it the same single pole relay as what was in it?
have you tried swapping in a stock relay from the wiper slot or blower, or other?

your old relay that wouldn't shut off, if you test it off the truck, is it shorted out in the on position.

same test with new relay?

Yes the bad relay is the same type of relay as the wiper relay, asd, and ac clutch. I've tried switching them out and still come up with the same issue as I did with a brand new one. For some odd reason I'm getting power to where it needs to be but the relays aren't closing and completing the circuit.

The old relay is shorted out or stuck in the closed position, the truck will run fine but the fuel pump won't shut off after the truck turns off.

I believe it narrowed it down to a bad ground. The constantly closed relay would still power the fuel pump, but a properly working relay would not close contacts because the lack of ground. I will check this out when I get home and let y'all know
