You're going to hate the 285's. The blasted V6 is slow enough as it is, I know, my mom had a Ram van with one. My dad HATED that damn engine.

 

By 265s do you mean 265/75r16 or 265/70r16? 265/75s would probably be pushing it, but 265/70s would most likely be alright as they're only 1.5-2" taller than the 255s rather than 2.5-3" with the 265/75

 

I was thinking 265/70s or 265/65s. It might be ok with just the 255/65s though. My daystar kit came tonight. I'll be installing the first weekend I have off from work. Gotta do rocker panels tomorrow so I can get my sticker this month.

 

This is true. When I say 265 or 285 I am usually referring to 2xx/75. But, yes, you're right about that.
Quick question, why do you have to fix your rockers so you can get an inspection sticker (or reg, which is it?)?

 

In Maine, any body panels that have through rust and/or rust that can be poked through with a screwdriver on any body panels (quarters, cab corners, rockers, fenders and/or doors) cannot be passed through inspection. Even though it is not structurally integral to the vehicle, apparently it's still unsafe. So that's why. I bought one rocker panel and cut it up into 4-5 scrap pieces and patched 3 separate rocker panel holes with some left over! WIN!

 

It was the same way in Maryland. Any rust through would be failed. But if you filled the holes with bondo, it would pass.

 

Yeah, I only like to use bondo to fill in the cracks and make my work smooth, not fill holes with it. I like to use real metal whenever I can.
