Default bearing noise

Since I ordered a Spartan locker for the Ram Im planning on changing the carrier bearings as well but normally when driving off a highway ramp or coming to a stop there is generally a humming noise coming from the rear I assume its the rear diff but my friend did a overhaul on his rear diff on his 1500 the noise went away and came back like 15,000 miles later do these Dana 60 operate that way or was it because he bought cheap bearing lol

It's not normal. And I'm thinking the humming noise is the gears. Who installed them (the gears, your friends)and have they been checked again?

No I don't think he has since he did the bearing. So which gears make that humming sound? So to see if I can replace them when I install my locker

You have not checked anything on yours yet. I was talking about your friend who replaced his gears. They might not have been set up correctly. And it's the ring and pinion gears. As far as you go, you also need to check the outer axle bearings as well as removing the diff cover and inspecting.

Best bet is to just do a full rebuild unless you have done it recently.. like zman said the proper setup is key.. I had to take mine back 2 times before it was done correctly..

Another good reason to do it yourself, so you know it's done right.

I didnt have the tools or time to do it myself then.. The guy was really good about it and fixed it for no charge.. He would get my service again.

Fixed

All this can be answered if you look in the 2001 FSM page 229. The FSM can be found in the DIY area here on DF for free download.
