Default Fixing that bounce

I started a new job site two weeks ago downtown. I decided to bus than drive, truck doesn't fit in most parking garages there and it's too expensive to drive.
After the truck sitting for a week, I went out in it but the ride seemed very springy over every bump, plus there was a weird knocking noise from the rear.
I figured the suspension was old and worn out and the mass amount of snow we got in 2 days was the problem. Shoveled it all out, seemed a bit better but still a problem. Crawled under it yesterday and found the driver rear shock was blown. Luckily my stepdad gave me the shocks and coils off his '05 2500.
Got the driver side off, it snapped right at the frame mount. Replaced the passenger, SAME THING! My truck is an '01, my '95 YJ was bone stock before I got working on it and the shocks were still in great shape. Kind of strange how the truck drives fine, then after sitting for a week everything starts to brake.
The 2500 shocks have about 20k (km) on them, the truck drives really nice now.
Here is a pic of the two shocks.
