Default Spray-On Bedliner on Trim?

So on my Ram, the bottom trim is starting to rust along the cab. I've heard of people using spray on bedliner on the body to fight rust and at the same time make the truck a bit tougher. Or perhaps just look tougher. But I'm not sure if it'll even stick to the trim or if it'll even look good. Anyone tried this or recommend it?

The trim on these trucks is plastic, unless you have that metal chrome plating stuff at the bottom of the cab? It might stick, it might not.

Pictures are nice.
Do you live in the rust-belt?

Spraying on rust will not do anything for you. It will still rust away....

I live in South west Missouri so on the edge. And of course sand the rust down first. Its a future prevention idea. And yeah its plastic, thats my doubt about this.
