Default gasket treatments ??

i know no one will endorse using anything, but i simply can not do any mechanical work, i have a small leak, i think the rear seal,, transmission and engine meet,, could be the oi pan, but i think there is oil higher leaking down,, anyway, anything to slow it down or just a quick fix,, at my age and milage i drive it will probable last forever... thanks..

i've never had much luck with oil stop leak products, but if i was going to use one, i'd try a well known brand name like STP or Gunk or Bardahl or similar.

i've had a lot of leaky vehicles. i do know that thicker oil like 20w50 leaks less than thinner, and regular oil leaks less than synthetics, and when that fails... cheap walmart oil costs less than expensive name brand and it all looks the same when its in a puddle on the ground...

if you have a bad leak that causes you to add oil regularly and you are temped to think you're getting an equivalent oil change - you are not. DO - change the oil and filter regularly even if its leaking like hell. DON'T neglect oil changes about every 3-4 months max.

I used Bardahl once for an oil leak on my old Blazer, it worked quite well. Never leaked oil again....

report back in a couple of weeks.

i resealed my engine a few years ago when doing the plenum. i put on new oil pan gasket, rear seal, valve covers, valve cover grommets, pcv, timing chain, water pump, front seal, etc. the works... also included an oil pressure sending unit.

well guess what... after a years and not long ago, my oil pressure started reading zero at idle. i figured it was a false reading, so i swapped the sending unit (again) and found that the old one had started leaking at the o-ring. it wasn't bad enough to drip yet, but was lstarting to run down the back of the engine. this may or may not have anything to do with your problem.
