Default Rusted out body mount supports

Hello Fellow Ram owners,

I have a '96 1500SLT Quad cab with 309K miles on it. Both sides of my front cab body mounts are completely rusted away from the under carriage. So for the most part I have no cab to frame support whatsoever in the front cab section. I have yet to find an aftermarket supplier of floor pans/under carriage parts. All I could find are replacement floor pans from the middle of the floor pan to the center area towards the transmission. Has anyone had this problem and if so did you find a way to fix this?

Looing forward to any input thank you.

Gary

I have the exact same problem and am looking forward to seeing the replies. I'm not swapping cabs from another truck. So if there is not a fix, it will soon be the next truck getting parted out.

ATM I don't have access to tools to work with sheet metal or any welding equipment. This is one area I have no real working experience in.

I am in the same boat as you guys, mine are just starting to rust out. I have been hunting for some time and as of yet no luck. So the auto wrecker will not sell me just the mounts I have to buy the whole cab, NLA from the dealer and after market body suppliers. I will also be watching this thread for updates.

well you don't always need a welder. you more so just need a way to bend the sheet metal. might be able to use self taping screws to hold it in place and together.

Or just jb weld it. Lol sorry I wouldn't drive it if it wasn't welded. I would think that any compitent metal shop could fab you some for pretty reasonable.

welding is the best way but if you don't got the tools i would rather the sheet metal cab supports at least screwed or bolted in. it beats a rotten or no cab support at all.

Need to fab them or have them fabed up. No other option if they're not available, except of course replacing the cab.

And using screws is about the same as them being rusted out. Weld or don't bother.
