All I know is, my 98 1500 w/tow package had the same one (specs and all on the label, with no weight distribution listed) as my 2000, 8800gvw 2500. I removed all doubt by purchasing a Curt class 5 hitch. When I was shopping around for a hitch, multiple places said it was a class 3.

No, I have yet to install it, and right now it's at my storage unit. But this is the one I bought.

well, i'm getting a dolly from a different u haul. i told them i was towing a geo prizm, lol.

thanks for the input. i just wanted clarification in case i was missing something.

thanks for that info on that hitch. i think i might eventually upgrade the trailer hitch like that one.
