The problem with waiting to do the plenum fix is, you are are risking cracking your heads, from a clogged cat.

Replace the plenum, y-pipe with an off road y-pipe and universal cat and get a tuner.

Truck will behave totally different.

I will after winter. I just dropped a sizable sum on tires and a battery. The plenum isn't bad right now. Doesn't use much oil and hardly pings. I will do it though.
