I am curious on how often you should change the air filter for a dusty environment; I have heard it being as low as 6000 miles to 15000 miles. Also does it matter what shape the filter is on how often it should be changed (i.e. conical, 14x3, stock)?

 

I live in a really dusty area in the spring, summer and sometimes fall(rain) and I just check every oil change, or at the very least, change it once a year.

 

If it looks dirty, change it. Owners manual states frequency depending on driving conditions. I agree with the above, check it often, replace at least once a year.

 

Wash the cotton filter if you have one and be done with it.
