Yeah, and from what I understand, the problem with diesel is the extremely small size of the particulate. That carbon ends up deep in your lungs. I guess we could all spend our lives wearing a face mask with hepa filters. There are some people it would improve the looks of as well.

Re-read the issues with the Ecoboost. The engines are basically drowning due to a build-up of moisture. That's a design flaw and not something related to a lack of maintenance.
Oh im aware, but there are "design flaws" in almost every vehicle. Some just more serious than others obviously. Recalls happen all the time. Is this one a little bigger than most? Ya. Is it the first? No. Will it be the last? No.
I looked at the Ford ecoboost trucks before I bought my current Dodge. The sales guy was going to even let me bring my trailer & Jeep over and try towing it. If I liked the power then I might buy one. Never made it back over because I found my diesel and bought it.

They aren't "design flaws", they are design flaws. I don't know about you, but being apathetic toward recalls is not a healthy attitude. I've posted on this forum about my dad's involvement with one of the Big 3 when he was an engineer and how the executives deal with design flaws. This quote from the movie Fight Club is quite accurate:
