Default Orange Peel

Hey guys so I just recently detailed my truck and have to say that I love it. The only thing I dont like is now I can truly see how much orange peel my truck really has. I know wet sanding is the way to remove this but my question is, is this possible with factory paint or are the layers to thin?

It is possible. But, you have to be very careful because it is thin. You will not be able to remove all the orange peel on factory paint but you can knock it down so it looks better.

For reference, in one shop I worked at, if it was a show job, we would spray 3 coats clear, sand 70-80% flat, spray 3 more coats clear, sand 100% flat, and buff. A lot of work, but made for a perfectly flat, deep look to the paint, like a mirror. You'd be able to read the writing on the compound bottle in the reflection when it was done.
