Default "The Dodge" build thread

Well, since I have been getting a lot of things done on my truck, I might as well keep you all updated on how it is going. I plan on having a truck that can take a hit off road and still be able to tow at highway speeds.

Here's what it looked like when I first got it.
(October 5, 2012)

After I put my own touch to personalize it (CB, K40 Antenna, PA, and muffler).
(June 4, 2013)

When I finally got the front bumper installed.

After getting it washed and the new rims installed.
(May 16,2014)

Finished installing roll bar and the wiring for the KCs.

Got new tires installed and black grille to replace the broken tabs on the old one.

Replaced old 1500 springs with new 2500 varriable rate springs, gained about 2''-2.5'' of lift

I will try to keep this updated as more things are added (or finished).

I like the way this truck is coming along. I must say, I have yet to see this color on another 2nd gen Ram, (at Least where I travel daily). Nice looking truck. K.

Updates added (New tires, 285/75/16). If everything goes according to plan, next month there should either be a rear bumper to match the front or a 3" lift kit.

The rims are 16x8 with 4.25 backspacing and -6 offset.

There is no rub at full lock.

I have been quite for awhile now since my mom just went through a total knee replacement but she pulled through just fine and just got released home. Anyways, I decided to go with the rear bumper and I am just waitin' on delivery so I can update with the new look. As for the lift, I am looking at something as simple as a 2500 coil swap. I have read that the ride will be stiffer but a truck is a truck, not a Cadillac. One question I had is there a lift difference between the V8 coils vs the diesel/V10 coils?

Bumper got here Wednesday and had a couple of friends help me do the install around 8p.m. so it was too dark to post pics last night. Mounting it was confusing since even though it bolts into factory holes, there is still a space between the back of the bed and the bumper. Also, I had to unbolt the factory tow receiver to install the bumper since it has tabs that bolt onto the bottom of the frame. Currently the bumper is sandwiched between the tow receiver and the frame; I don't see any problem since all the bolts are tight but the rear bolts have the tabs of the bumper between it and the frame and the front part of the tow receiver is bolted straight to the frame. Any input is appreciated
