is there a wire run to the trailer connector? if the truck did not come with trailer brakes the wire needs to be run from the controller to the trailer connector.

there are 2 fuses i believe under the hood in the pdc for it. check em out. otherwise, you have other issues...

just kidding, 1 fuse(40a), and 1 relay.

I have power and ground at the controller but no led light on it ? Does the trailer have to be plugged into the truck for it to come on ?

It should. I also have a tekonsha controller and the trailer has to be plugged in before the controller comes on.

youre all correct, to an extent. i have a reese controller in my truck, and it will light up when i hit the brakes without a trailer connected. its just one small led dot, but it still lights up.

also, on my jeep, i have a tekonsha prodigy p2 and it will light up completely on start up, and if there is no trailer, it will blink nc for no connection, and then go on stand by mode.

trucks controller is wired to the factory brake adapter, jeep is hardwired to the battery, and spliced into the brake switch wire. then connected to the blue wire that feeds the trailer connector.
