Yeah, I don't like Java either... I use C# extensively for desktop apps and web apps. The reason I use C# is because I'm on a programming team at my work and the team uses .net, I have to stick with .net. Microsoft gives us the stuff for next to nothing (I work for a government organization). Most of them use VB, but I am trying to get them to at least switch over to C#.

As for c++, it depends. For work I just use gedit along with g++. For personal its more visual studio. It has its quarks yes, but I am used to it by now and havnt really felt like switching over to anything else.
