Default ebay stainless headers experience?

Wondering if anyone has tried these. Price is compelling.

I don't know about these specific headers, but on the whole the eBay header brands are hit or miss it seems. I got some eBay long tubes for my old 99 Z28 and they looked nice and fit well enough, but the ports for the O2 sensors were facing the wrong way and the welds on the emission port tubes were extremely weak. I broke them both off by just having my hands near them when doing mundane things like spark plug changes. It was aggravating to say the least......

I sold the car they were on and I've kept my other LS1 car mostly stock, so I gave them to a good friend of mine who welded up the emission ports and uses them on his LS swapped 67 Camaro drag car.

Some people have reported warping at the flanges on some headers and / or weak welds on those parts, but I haven't noticed anything like that with any I have come across personally. All in all I would buy some again if I wanted to get some decent, cheap headers, but I would I would keep an eye on any emission tubing welds and be prepared to repair them when they break.

Ebay headers = china made. Just because it says "stainless" it could be any grade and still rust out. A guy on another forum had these and got about 5 years out of them before they rusted out. "$Back guarentee,Lowest Price Best quality,FREEship 2way" It says best quality but they only give you a 60 day warranty. Best quality in my book means 304 heavy gauge stainless! Borla is warranted for one million miles! They don't make headers for dodge second gens and if they did they would cost well over a grand. You get what you pay for.

China is manufacturing just about everything we buy anymore - hard to find anything that isn't.

I suspect that the manufacturer probably knocked off someone else's design. They look alot like Summit's offering for $200, but going that way gets you plain steel and shipping paint at double the cost. I like the stainless idea, don't worry about corrosion protection.

I searched a bit more, and found a related thread. Dug through some of the poster's other threads, didn't find any more mention of them. That in itself might be the testament, we tend to talk about problems than about what is working. Looks like he has not been here in a few months.

I've seen several people run them. They usually last 2-3 years before a weld cracks or something. Using the gaskets that come with you will have leaks. Good gasket, re-tq after a couple drives, and if a weld cracks you can re-weld it or order a new set. For the price you can't expect great quality but low buck is low buck and that in itself is hard to beat.

Remflex gaskets take up a few of the cheap flange sins, and re-torque isn't needed.

We put a set on Brooke's Chevy, and are really happy with them. Nice thick flange and 14 gauge tube. Was a different vendor though. Had them book marked, but computer died. If we get it running, I'll try to print my book marks and share the vendor.
