I have a 97 1500 318 4x4 that the climate control stays on defrost no matter what position I have the control set to. I am missing the vacuum hose from the check valve off the engine that runs through the fire wall. all the diagram says is this goes to the climate control. From what I can see all of the hoses are connected to the control box.
can anyone tell me where the hose from the check valve is suppose to connect to once it goes through the fire wall

Look at the third link in my post. That's what yours should look like(engine side). Your vac line is probably lost behind the firewall. If trace the vac lines on the climate control one is the feed that runs up threw the the firewall. Not an easy task but it can be done.
