Default Thinking about buying a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 for 2k CAD

It has a manual 5 speed, with a 3.9L V6, and 196k km on the odometer. How reliable do you guys think these trucks are? I want to be able to use it for at least 40-50k more.

Personally I would not waste my money on a full size truck with a V6. Not hating, just my preference.

I am not really towing much, just need something to that will will get me around, and carry a dirt bike. I am much more interested in just reliability of the vehicle.

Same here! The V6 is just like the 5.2 35.9 but with two cylinder chopped off. Look into the plenum fix and possibly changing the fuel pump. You didn't say where you are but trucks in the rust belt rust out break lines so they need to checked.

These are true old school trucks. Get it for the stick at least. Throw out 1800 and see what they say.

Btw, I'm at 235k plus and have driven my truck since 2001 as a daily vehicle. It's all I know. Most reliable vehicle I've ever heard of. Cummins? What's a cummins>?
