8.0L with a v10 for 500$. I think it needs a fuel pump since it'll start for about 3 seconds then die. Going to check fuel pressure wednesday. Now in the likely event it needs a pump is it easier to just drop the tank or move the bed back a little bit. I've been in an argument with my friend and he says if those bolts strip or are too rusted they will break apart and then you have to drill the bolts out. I've been able to keep it running on starting fluid hope the trans is good since the fluid was in really good shape. 210K miles 2500 V10 2WD.

I've had that 3 seconds and die when I swapped computers on my 2004 Ram. You don't look like you have much rust, so I'd put invest in a can of PB blaster and spray the bolts a day in advance.

To answer your question, I'm not totally sure, but I guess you could always cut an "access door" into the bed above the fuel pump of you REALLY wanted to speed up the process. I haven't done a fuel pump replacement on a Ram yet, but I did one on one of my Isuzus and it wasn't a whole lot of fun. But, the Ram sits much higher, so I imagine it's not too difficult to drop the tank.

Live in Florida so I don't have to worry about rust much
