Default Lining up the transmission and engine

Hi all, so I got the truck on flat ground and the transmission is on the jack under the truck. However I cannot for the life of me get the dowel pins on the engine block lined up with the transmission. I’ve been fighting with it for several days now with no luck. Anyone got some tips to make this job easier?

Have to pick up the engine from the front and kind of swing it in and up. It's not the easiest if you don't have an engine leveling tool

You need to raise the front of your engine so it angles the dowel rods on the back of it down slightly. You'll also need to angle your transmission up when installing it.
