Default differences between offroad package and non offroad package?

Exactly as the title states, what are the differences? I'm curious because i'm thinking my truck has the offroad package but not entirely sure. Mines a 97 1500 non sport. It seems as tho it sits highter than 2nd gen 1500's. (I work in an auto shop so i see quite a few and take notice.)

I've searched the site already and didn't find much. any and all help will be much appreciated!

Considering your truck is a 97, it's not an Off-Road edition, because they didn't come out until 99 or 2000.

But they came with 17 in. Wheels, Skid Plates, Tow Hooks, Fog Lamps, Oil Cooler, and I believe they were 2in. higher than a standard 4x4 Ram. Plus they come with a nice little Badge in the upper right hand corner of the tailgate.

I have a offroad edition. It doesn't have a oil cooler, but as stated everything else is correct. Plus 4.10 gears and factory trussed front dana 44.

Btw, related question. This is a dana 44 axle. Is the bolt pattern the same for a dana 44 on jeeps? Yeah, I know silly, but heck just thought to ask b/c I'm considering a diff. protector for cheap. Like something here:

Mine actually earns its keep and is abused, it's not a show piece. And yes all the dana 44's are the same as far as bolt pattern covers go.

The OP doesnt even state if his truck is 4wd?... If not that would have been the first give away. They are not going to sell a 2wd offroad edition truck.

Well even tho mines a 97; its got the trussed rear axle, fog lamps, tow hooks, and it sits roughly 1.5-2 inches higher than other 4x4s and has a lsd. And its completely original and everythings stock beside the new plenum plate.

That doesnt mean you have an Off-Road edition. Off-Roads were only available in 2000 and 2001. Fog lamps, tow hooks, and rear lsd were options regardless of model year.

And it's the D44 front axle that is trussed on an offroad edition.
