Truck acts like its going to die
A long time ago this happened to me and now it happened twice today (3 times total). The first time it ever happened and the first time today, was when I started the truck, put it in reverse and went back a bit and turned, stepped on brake, then put it into drive and from there it sounds like its going to die out. I would step on the pedal and it would act like it wants to do what I'm telling it to but the motor would fluctuate, like I would step on the gas a bit and it would react normally, then drop down in RPM, then back up, down etc. And then the second time today it was after I had made a turn at a stop sign after about 30 seconds of driving normal. Anyone have any idea what this bucking (not sure if thats the right term) could be? Plugs were just put in not that long ago, I have no idea what else it could be. I know that cat's give this sort of problem but thats usually at higher speeds, here I was barely moving (< 20 mph).
you said it happened awhile back, and then straightened out. about 6 months ago maybe ? did it straighten out with cleaned iac ? when my iac quit working right it started with fast surging idle, and then changed to stalling/dying at stop signs, etc. you can replace iac for about $40-45.
ps.. did you ever take the jetchip off and are you still pinging ?

Actually when I let the truck idle for like 30 seconds to a minute, it will get rough, but then smooth out after ~15 seconds. I guess this might be the IAC, although it didn't look like it was in bad shape. I haven't taken the Jet chip off yet, I will be doing it sometime this week since this is my spring break finally. Just trying to get a good mpg reading on a tank with this round air cleaner when it has been normal temperatures so theres no bad readings like if its freezing out and it takes longer, etc.
Another thing when I think about it, when I am coming to a stop, I hear like liquid shooshing around under the hood, I know there was a topic about this a long time ago but I don't remember if there was any conclusion from it. Possible IAC problems?

hmmm, might not be iac. all it is is an air valve, that controls the amount of air that is bypassing the tb plate, which in turn controls the speed of the idle. so if you press the gas pedal a little bit and open the plate, then the iac becomes meaningless, since air is going through the plate.
liquid sloshing sound is usually air in the heater core, and the sound comes from behind the dash, passenger side. have you been changing fluid or thermostat or something. make sure rad is full, turn htr/ac to heat, temp dial to hot, fan doesn't matter, and drive around like that for a couple of days. it should purge itself out.

Nah I haven't changed any fluids besides oil, but it could have happened before I bought the truck I guess.
