coil spring vs. leaf spring
when comparing my friends 99 F-250 Super Duty to my 99 Ram 2500 I noticed on the front of his
truck he has leaf springs and shocks instead of coil springs. Is this any better? or more "heavy duty"
I also looked at the back and there is one more leaf on his truck and all of them are alot beefier than my
2500. both trucks are bone stock and used for work. no extra parts have been added. He said my truck is a great work truck but still not up to par compared to the same year Super Duty. I personally
have had zero problems with my truck when hauling stone and cement.
One thought I had was because his is a diesel it had some beefed up parts but I saw the same suspension on a gas F-250 Super Duty.
I would hate to think that my truck is not "Heavy Duty"

if you look at the 2005 and up ford switched to coils in the front on there superduties....the only reason why ford went with leaf springs is because it's simple and cheap. Dodge spent millions in developing and researching the front 4 link suspension on our 4wd dodges. coil springs give you alot better riding quality.
