Default unknown problem

I have a problem and I hope somone can shed some light for me if they've had the same problem. When driving normally (o/d on) I get a bad vibration. When I let off the gas it goes away. If I step into it so the tranny kicks down it doesn't do it. If i lock out o/d it's not as bad, but it still does it ocasionnaly. I'm getting tired of it since it's 10 hours home from where I work and driving with o/d locked out is a real hit on the wallet.

will this thread maybe give a description to your problem? tc lock/ unlock or o/d shudder as they call it?

https://dodgeforum.com/m_671912/tm.htm

usually a change of TPS (located at the driver side throttle body) will cure it, sometimes a wrong trans fluid will cause it, our trucks only likes ATF+4 sometimes loose bands that need to be re adjusted per maintenance schedule, or worse tranny is on the way out. do a search on "shudder" hope this helps a bit

it could be the torque converter. I had the sameproblem about a month ago I had to rebuild the tranny. Run the codes and check just to be sure.

I have had that problem on a couple of my trucks and it was a "U" joint on the drive shaft. I never had any play in it. Had to take it off and found out , I could not move one of them. Pulled it apart and that was it.

Agreed. Sounds like an out-of-balance drive shaft or bad u-joints.
