Default Engine won't run

I am posting this for a friend of mine. He has a 2000 Ram 2500 with a 360. When he tries to start the engine he has to hit the accelerator while cranking to get it start. Then if he lets off the accelerator the truck dies. I am thinking it is fuel related. So I figure try checking the fuel pump and fuel pressure. But how do you check the fuel pressure on these trucks?

Or could there be something else wrong with the truck, we check for codes and there was nothing, any ideas?

Thanks,
Ryan

If it's got the pressure to start and run w/ his foot on it, then it's got the pressure to idle. Check the IAC (first), plugs, wires, cap, and rotor.

Ok, that makes sense, but what is the IAC and how do you check it?
