Default play in the driveline

[align=left]I checked my u joints out today and found that there is play in the "sliding yoke" comming out of the "output shaft"(right from the dodge manual) when i lift up on the driveshaft there is play in the back of the tranny...

I also have driveline snap when i shift from park to drive/reverse...
Im already aware of the tsb and its not for my year truck...

Any thoughts

How much play? Sure its not in the u-joints?

As for the clanking when going from park/reverse its just play in the spiders, its normal.

This may the culprit, and the solution.....

Transfer Case Saver Kit

Transfer Case Saver for all New Process 231 and 241Transfer Cases with the 2 piece tailshaft that uses 4 bolts to attach the extension housing to the tailshaft housing. Replaces the failure prone factory snap ring that holds the rear output shaft against the rear output bearing. Easy to install, patented design part includes two precision machined rings that bolt together, two bolts, threadlocker, RTV sealant and instructions. Made in U.S.A. Will not work on cases with either the 3 bolt rear extension piece or models with 1 piece tailshaft housing

QU50137 Transfer Case Saver Kit $64.99

I read about this kit in a 4x4 mag, someone was installing it on a jeep. I believe it's a good fix or I wouldn't suggest it.
You can call the folks at Quad 4x4, and they will help you with any questions. They are excellent folks to deal with.
