i have a 98 dodge ram 1500 2wd with the 5.9l , to get maximum performance for dollar, what would be the best mods to get, im very indecisive on what would work well together, i was thinking intake, i hear good things about the m1, and a throttle body from fastman, would a cam be good with these parts installed? if so what cam woudl u recommend. thanks for the help

best thing to do first is:
read the Field Service Manual, all 1600 pages or so

2nd thing to do is find the best tire to suit your driving
that has excellent stopping performance
both dry and wet

some other compiled tips to consider:

a very long read,
but the engine section of the MPG FAQ
has many suggestions that improve both
fuel economy and performance at the same time,
as well as de-bunking a few myths:

Remove the Jet chip and get a Superchips programmer.

And then remove that Superchips programmer and get a B&G flash. : )

If you plan to do those other mods (TB, M1, cam), then do those first. Once you have done everything you want to do, then get the flash. It is an awesome mod. Forget about the programmer unless you really want it to read codes and adjust tire sizes. For performance the flash is hands down the best way to go.
