Default Ridiculously bad MPG

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Off-Road, I purchased the truck nearly a year ago, and averaged almost 14 mpg, it was basically stock except for it did have Flowmasters, I have since put on 33" Mickey Thompson MTZ's, a Hypertech programmer, and a K&N Filter; my current mpg is just under 8, it has just gone over 100k for miles, and has had a tune up (plugs, wires, and rotor). What can I do to increase my fuel economy back into the double digits, it is a 5.9l, and I believe it may have 4.10 gears, but I'm not certain of that, all fluids have also been changed regularly. I'm getting to the point where I'm ready to buy a diesel just to increase fuel economy

Get rid of the 33's and the Hypertech programming. With those kinds of mods you're hard pressed to get 11.

I get 12-13 usually with 33's and 3.92's.

I dunno, once I did a bunch of crap hoping for better milage and I got 17.75mpg the road trip after that, I was really happy.

I gave it a tune up, ran 1/2 qt of marvel mystery oil in the oil, the other 1/2 through the gas tank. I also put some higher concenterated injector cleaner then was recomended through it (not at the same time at the marvel) and I new air filter I think.

I'm getting between 11-12mpg consistantly with my Off-Road. Granted I have smaller tires (265/75-17's) but with your 4.10 gears, the 33 inch tires shouldn't hurt your economy too much.

I think the Hypertech is killing your mpg. I had one on a previous truck (Ford) and the mileage went way down and the power increase was only minimal.

Well the original tire size on a 2001 off-road is a 275/70/17, which roughly equates to a 33" tire anyway, so that's definitely not the problem.

I agree dodge mpg sucks, but my V10 gets 10-11mpg and he's only getting 8. I still say get rid of the programmer to start. If that doesn't work, tear into it and clean every fuel/air system component possible. Replace if bad.
