I've got a ram 1500 that sees very little road time and a whole lotta ranch time. Recently, it seems that I've put a bullseye on the front of my truck because my wife and her grandfather have both backed into my front bumper. Because it sees little road time, I'm going to pull the fuse for the airbag. Is there anything else attached to this system? I've seen some vehicles integrate the A/C system into the same fuse, am I going to see any gremlins like that on my ram?

RE: Airbag fuse
is there any real advantage to disabling the air bag ? i'd hate to hear about the one time your wife had to drive it to town and something happened other than that, i'd don't think its interconnected to anything. i think you will get a constant 'air bag' light on the dash if its disabled.

RE: Airbag fuse
I wish I could take mine out entirely. It was designed to be able to protect a 160# male who isn't wearing a seatbelt. I wear mine all the time ... don't need a canvas bomb going off in my face, thank you.

I drive with one hand at either 11:00 or 1:00 (depending on which hand I'm using) and am usually wearing sunglasses. So the bag will slam my forearm into my face and I'll probably wind up with polycarbonate shards in my eyes.

... and exactly what use is a passenger side airbag? If you're wearing your seatbelt ... you shouldn't come within 2 feet of the dashboard.

Thats just it, she doesn't drive it except around the ranch for chores, she can't properly reach the clutch to drive it in town. I just don't want it to deploy when I'm out doing something stupid like running the open pasture at 60 mph or when anything else, livestock included decides to fight the truck. Thanks for the response.
