Default No truck

Well I took my truck in to the mechanic for a whining noise when in reverse. They hooked it to the computer and forund out that it was slipping between 3rd and 4th. So had them tear it apart to find what the problem was. Well the torque converter went bad on me and had piecesof metal in the oil which obviously got to the rest of the trans. So now she is sitting in the shop getting the trans rebuilt. Only gonna cost $1800. Not too bad I guess for the work. Mechanic said that it looked good inside overall for the amount of miles. But it got to the bearings and clutches. Worse part is that I can't get my boat out of storage until I get it back.

LOL. Just gonna have to go take the friends boat out while they're at work. No one can expect me to just sit around with nothing to play in.

I'm not familiar with trans. Engines I have no problems with. But what is an APS Trans? I am assuming that it is a manufacturer. Where would I look into getting one at?

You can also purchase a quality performance transmission from dreviltransmissions.
http://www.dreviltransmissions.com/46RE.htm

I just had mine installed (Pure Evil) and am loving it. Came with new torque converter and a new heavy duty tranny cooler. 24 mos/24,000 mile warranty. Billy, the company owner, is extremely easy to talk with. he's out this week but can be reached.

FYI, dreviltransmissions is part of Roadmaster Transmissions so you could probably get a base model there also.

Billy owns several patents on Dodge transmissions and his shop is an authorized Raybestos new product tester. Like I said he is very easy to talk with and extremely knowledgable and down to earth. Ordered the tranny Tuesday morning, and it was at the freight dock in Minneapolis on Friday morning.
