Default Battery Draining -- WHY?

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Extended Cab 5.9 Liter

The battery drains in less than 4 hours. I replaced the battery twice and replaced the battery cables. I've also replaced the alternator. None of this helped.I used atest light from the battery to the positive cable and started pulling fuses. When I pulled the IOD fusethe light went out. What pulls power from theIOD fuse?

I unhooked the radio, I've checked the glove box, I've checked all interior lights, seat belt solenoid and everything was fine. What am I missing? What else pulls power fromthe IOD fuse?

Not sure how you would use a test light to effectively check for current drain...best bet is to use an ammeter in series with the battery to measure the current. should be pretty small, with the seatbelt solenoids connected i usually see about .5A which is huge to me (modded mine, draws about 15mA now). Can't remember right now what else comes off the IOD fuse, but interior lights, a few other things also come off of there. Put the ammeter in and make sure thatthe battis indeed being drained by the IOD loads.

I'm not sure what setting to use on the ammeter. Do you know?

start with the highest (usually 10 or 20A) and work your way down, no need to get to the uA range or anything, leaving it on the highest range should actually give you a good enough resolution.

Check and make sure that your glove box light is turning off when you close the door. Check your brake lights to see if they remain on. Do you have an Infinity sound system? I have heard of the amps staying powered up. Check your under the hood light too.

Good luck with your ride.
