Default REPLACING A BUSTED DOOR LOCK

MY TRUCK (95 RAM) WAS BROKEN INTO RECENTLY BY SOMEONE...GOING THROUGH THE DRIVER DOOR LOCK W PROBABLY A SCREWDRIVER. I HAVE PURCHASED A NEW LOCK BUT I CANNOT FIND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REPLACE THE BUSTED LOCK. I CAN REMOVE THE PANEL, AND TAKE THE SCREWS OUT OF THE HANDLE BUT THEN I AM STUCK...ANY LINKS TO A SITE TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE LOCK ITSELF? THANKS.

Open the door and look at it from the side. Halfway up the door, even with the lock is a metal retaining clip. Pull that clip straight out towards you. After it's out, the lock cylinder will pull out through the front. Pull gently, there is a connecting rod attached to the back. Un clip it carefully. They can break quite easily.

Hook the new lock cylinder up, push it back into the door handle bezel, and reinstall the retaining clip.

Hope that helps.

Good luck with your ride.
