Yeah i got the same setup, i got my ported TB and the 14x3 air filter, and my truck is alot louder than b4. And I was always runnin open headers-->gutted cat--->out the side so it was always on the loud side.

I did my own port job on my TB about a year ago. I wouldn't recommend using a grinder. They tend to jump around too much. I used a drill press with a stone to take the majority of the ears off. It is much more precise. Lock the TB in a vise that you can slide around on the drill press table. Take a little off at a time and use oil to keep it cool. I used a tapered stone to put a radius on the top of the openings. I kept the TB in the vice and slid it around on the table to get a fairly uniform radius across the top.

I then used a 2 inch flapper wheel to open up the bore down to the butterflies. I left the shaft and the butterflies in place. Just took the wheel down to where it touched the shaft lightly. I posished by hand with some fine wet and dry sandpaper.

Make sure you clean it out real good to get all the metal filings out. Blow it out with compressed air, especially in the various holes.
