A neighbor has one of these trucks for sale and I'm thinking about buying it. But I can't find any info on the Dan Gurney specials. He claims they made less than 500 of them and that they have one off Boyd wheels made especially for these trucks. Has anyone ever heard of them? Is there someplace I could get some info?? Are they worth more than a standard Ram??

Never heard of it ... Dan Gurney was a Blue Oval man (Mustangs and Cougars) ... why would they make a "Dan Gurney" Mopar ANYTHING?

 

It has a plaque in the door jamb, a special front license plate, customDodge "Dan Gurney Special floor mats, exterior decals, etc. It also has MarkIII decals on it too from thecompany that buiklt the special edititons.

Dan Gurney raced with the All American Racers team and used 1970 AAR Cudas.

 

I couldn't find anything about this truck anywhere on the net. What I would do is call your local Dodge dealership and pick their brains, see what its all about and what makes it special. If its a nice truck and you are in the market I would buy it, don't buy it because its got his name on it or anything like that, its most likely never gonna bringthe same money anAAR 'Cuda might.

 

I contacted Dodge about my truck ( 96 Richard Petty Edition ), but was told they don't keep track of the special edition units unless it came from the factory that way...If it was shipped from the factory to a different custom builder then they would not have the info...I believe that it is a dealership thing...My truck was built 2/96 and the custom stuff done 3/96 per the door decal...I really just like the looks of the truck and all the extras
