I'm seriously considering the Toyo Open Country M/T as my next tire. Looking for anyone who is currently running them to give me your honest opinion, conditions you drive in, and post pics if you have any.

Thanks.

Ya, I like those Mickey Thompsons you got, and also the Cooper Discover STT, but they don't have the size I want. Only four A/T or M/T tires come in the sizes I really want (which are 295/70/17 or 305/70/17). They are Toyo Open Country M/T, Nitto Terra Grappler, Maxxis Bighorn, and Goodyear MTR. Other manufacturers don't even make a 295 at all, and most that make a 305 have them with an aspect ratio of 65 instead of 70. I want the extra height you get with the 70.

I have the Toyo A/T's on my truck. THey offer a pretty sweet ride and are quiet. I drive in snow and ice so no problems there. I work at a wheel and tire shop and I have never heard anyone complain or get stuck with the M/T's. All in all, they're a pretty solid tire.

Hey Silver, I haven't been on the site for awhile but saw this post on the Toyo's. I have been running the Toyo MT's for about 2 years now,and judging by how much tread is left on mine, they still have several years left in them. These tires are the only ones that I have NEVER had a flat or punture with. They [mine] are as quiet as a regular tire on the hiway.I have never been stuck ,be it deep, loose dirt or mud.I did lose about 1 mpg when I put them on, but I am running 35x13.50x15 size. Not sure what size you were looking at so you may not experience that much of a mpg loss.I only put from 7000 to 9000 miles on my truck per year and a fair share of it is desert running. These are the best I have had so far [Have had the BFG's,Pro Comp XT's and some off brands].You can't go wrong with the Toyo's in my opinion [humble].Hope this helps.

my buddy had them on his F350(28/75R16 Load Range E, 80PSI tire pressure) and his wore out in 20K. he roated them every oil change(5K, diesel motor) and kept them at 80PSI. year round tire, commute was about 30 miles a day, in rain, sleet, snow, ice, dry. he towed a trailer tice with them. they do blace very nice, the most weight a tire took on that truck was 1.50 OZ which is amazing consirdering the BFG A/Ts on there(295/75R16) the least weight on a tire was over 2.00OZ

Well, just ordered my Toyo Open Country M/T's today. 35x12.50R17. Picking them up today or tomorrow. Can't wait, though I won't be installing them till my current tires are used up (and I take my 3" up to 5"). I ordered them now though because i've been reading that tire prices are going to be going up over the next few months. I've seen prices going up here in town over the last few weeks already.
