Default MSD this and that

What MSD ignition parts would you recomend going with. I like msd for pritty much anything, but i havent delt with dodges in the ignition sense yet, so i dont even know what they make. I believe they make a set of wires for pritty much anything, so i know ill be getting 8.5s at least. Now im thinking of running a 6al setup, something i have not done in the past, so therefore i have not researched exactly how it all installs. Those of you who have or have had the 6 A/L's in your truck, please give me some feedback on your satisfaction with that unit. I need to do a tune up at the very least, but I did not see any caps or rotors for the magnum motors. Do the magnums use the same dist. as the pre mags? I may just get a pro bil. dist and drop that in. Now for coils im thinking the blaster 3 coil would be good, but again, i dont know what works and what doesnt with these motors. Any feedback would be very useful. thanks guys.

I installed the MSD 6a and Blaster 2 coil in my truck and am very happy. It was extremely easy to install. I did fabricate a steel 1/4 plate for mounting the coil to though. I hope to have a pic posted of it later this weekend. The factory coil mounts with the two small screws one above the other and of course the canister coil is totally different.

Had purchased a set of MSD 8.5 wires, ran into two issues.
1) The cap end of the wires was male, where my Napa bronze cap required female ends.
2) The coil wire was all of 12 inches long and I needed 24 inch minimum to use when the coil was mounted in the stock location.

I installed a set of Taylor 8mm wires I had and everythinng is great. I did have to purchase the MSD adapter for the coil so the female coil wire mounts correctly to the female coil connector. About $16.

The stock ditributor in the Magnum engines has very little if anything that can go bad. I am actually unaware that anybody even makes an aftermarket disctributor for this engine except when a carburator has been installed.

For the cap and rotor, just buy a quality brass cap and rotor.

I ordered some MSD wires from Summit Racing. They listed two wires but the one they listed that fits the 360's from 74 or whatever up is what I got as the other said it wouldn't fit the 01. Turns out everyone told me I should have gotten the other one. I didn't have male ends on the wires I don't think they were female ends but they were too big. I ended up bending them in with some pliers and they worked fine. For the coil wire that was way too short I called MSD and told them how long the one I needed was and they sent me a new one. The first time they said they sent it I never got it so I called back and they got one right out to me. They are working great now that I got those issues worked out.

I haven't tried Taylor wires on my Ram but I put a set on my Honda and so far I love them. Everyone told me to go with OEM on Honda's but I had a gift card thingy for summit so I ordered from them and got the Taylors.

Im guessing you went with the blaster 2? The blaster 3 has a male connection. Would the blaster 3 be more appropriate?

Here's some pics of my MSD install. Yes I did feel that I obtained a better running truck.
