Heater Core??
I was overheating a bit the other day, and my reservoir had no antifreeze in it. It doesnt appear to have any leaks in the system, and i thought maybe a headgasket, but my oil is perfect. I also assumed maybe the heater core being that my a/c had gone about a year ago do to the evaporator, which i havn't gotten around to fixing yet, but it doesn't seem that my floor is getting wet at all and my heat has still been working, all though i havn't needed it much being that its been getting a bit warmer out lately. Anyone have any ideas? I'd appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
most likely leaking around the water pump shaft seal. keep rad/overflow tank full and it might last a good while. if thats what it is, it will slowly get worse until eventually there's more leakage than what can evaporate and you'll see a puddle about 5 min after you shut it off.
ps.. if its heater core you'll get steam in the cab, smell, drip on floor.

Ok. I used it last night, and my friend said my heat smelled bad. I don't get a drip on the floor, but my truck sucks with fog. I had to have the windows open any time the defroster was on otherwise every window in my truck became fogged and it took a bit to get my front window clear.
Yea, the fog is on the inside. Its horrible when its rainy and i can' thave the windows open lol. Usually my front will clear up if its on hot and high, but every other window becomes completely fogged. Thanks. Its going in soon for a new heater core and evaporator. I'll have a/c once again as well.

definitely heater core with stinky fog on inside. as the hole rusts open bigger it will start dripping and spewing, which will ruin your carpet. if carpet is not wet there is no need to pull it up. if you can't get it in quick you should bypass htr core.
