Default Clank in tranny

Hey everyone, i have a 98 dodge ram 1500 with the 360 magnum engine. I just put autolite 3923's in it today and it runs great. My question is i know that the automatictranny's on these trucks arent the greatest, so is something wrong when you shift into reverse or drive and you hear a clank. Its kind of rough when you do it too. Its starting to bother me. Is something going wrong?? Any help is appreciated thanks

It could also be worn u-joints on the driveshaft ... depending on how loud the CLUNK is.

ive got that clunk, im glad you guys say its more or less normal, it is kinda loud, but that may just owner paranoia.

what about a shimmy at low rpm, low speed., and sometimes around corners lower speed?
driveshaft? ujoints? i checked both DS for the rear end, both sides of the stabilization mount and as far as I could tell there was no play in them., same with all 4 ujoints., i'll need to check again whether or not they're sealed or the greasable type., also there appears to be a little transmission oil on the rear of the tranny above the skidplate, but i cannot find any visible leaks., checked the oil, and it was well within tolerable limits.

I had a rear seal leak last month taken care of, and i looked for any visible leaks that may have come and neither wheel nor the diff has any oil leaking on to them..,
any other suggestions for me to look at before I take it to a shop to get them to do a once-over.
