Default Help in Minneapolis

'99 Ram 1500
360

I had my plenum replaced last year and so far have not had any problems. I am not losing any oil since thisreplacement either.

I notice a noise when accelerating and am not sure if it is "pinging". I have tried mid and premium grade gas but still notice this noise. Everything seems to be tight and have not experienced any power loss.I have also used Chevron Techron but to no avail. If this is in fact "pinging", how do I correct the problem?

This is unrelated to the above problem. Iam noticing a rattle under the driver side of the truck. You can hear this when idling; although I can't hear this when driving it could quite possibly be rattling then too.

Is there anyone who might be able to give me guidance with these annoying issues? Better yet, is there anyone in the Minneapolis area who is versed with these trucks that would take a quick look see?

Much appreciated,

Mugs

a loose lower shock bolt will create a rattle under your feet. bolt must be torqued to 100# which is very very tight.
this is more of a squeaky sound under driver side

A loose shock mount would be felt more than heard ... and then ... not while idling.

Loose heat shield?

Mugs,
What area of Minneapolis you from? I work in the SW Metro and live southwest of Shakopee. Maybe we could get together.

Turkeyhunter1962,

I am up in Ramsey but would be willing to meet you. These issues are driving me crazy and I am afraid I may be damaging the truck the longer I drive it.
