Default word to the wise dodge owners....

do not ever buy any B&M shift kit of any kind to put in a dodge tranny....
it blew mine apart... the transmission guy said that is the worst shift kit ever available
it makes the tranny pretty much tear itself apart... and in my case it did and i will be owing him
at least $1700 at the end of the week... yay for me ... [:'(]
getting complete overhaul
preformance bands, clutches, new pump
New t/c
New valve body
transgo reprogramming kit
so..... i cant wait to get it back, but i dont wanna pay the moo-la...

Sounds like a nice rebuild for the money, though. . .

ive heard tons of good stuff about the transgos..

but for 1700 you can buy a new tranny.. and updated version with all the revisions... . IIRC i spend 1400 on a brand new one with a new TC

XXL 1500 your signature lines say the transmission is a 1995 model.
How many miles were on it.

shott8283, $1400 sounds very good for a rebuilt 46 series transmission complete.
Who is selling those?
Do you have to send in the old transmission, or is there a core charge?

if you had high miles on your trans that could also have been the cause of the failure. One of the reasons i havent done a shift kit / valve body mod yet, 180k'ish tranny will be destroyed.

it was a local shop.. and it wasnt rebuilt.. it is a factory (repoped) brand new tranny.. and im assuming so since they kept my old tranny and waved the core transaction.. since i didnt see it on my bill.. but it was 1400 and some change out the door.

indyramman.. youd be surprised.. shift kits are known to extend tranny life.. firmer shifts and higher line pressure is actually healthier for auto trannies.. the factory doesnt manufacture them this way b/c of the "softer shift feels bettet" ridability factor...
