97 ram wont idle
try checking your fuel pressure, it's probably cutting out at 1000rpm.
connect a timing light (or an in line spark checker) and see if your spark is somehow disappearing (I usually connect it to the wire that is connected to the ignition coil, careful you can get nasty shocks)
and lastly try checking if your cat is plugged, remove 1st 02 sensor (before cat) and see if it makes any difference.

Have any problems with pack rats? They can be a ****!
i.e....
Crank position sensor plug, coolant temp. plug, etc...
If the coolant plug is torn, the ECU will throw a LOT of fuel in the mix. It "thinks" the car is at ~30deg. f. So, it will enrichen it too much if it is FUBAR.
