Default Camshaft number two

Ok im back again, I have been down for a while and trying to figure out the problem with my truck. The camshaft that I installed was to big and my truck rejected it, almost like a heart transplant I guess. This cam is more milder but agressive, I had to wait for 3weeks to get it in. I have made alot of mods on my engine and I hope I can help anyone in here with the same problems I have been experiencing.

I've been through quite a bit with my engine mods. Because these engines are computer controlled, yuo must install what I've been told is a 'Computer friendly cam". My cam has 110 degree lobe separation and that's right at the minimum for the computer to control. 112 is preferred because of the vacuum issues that arise from the lower lobe separation. To offset that some you can change the vacuum feed location for your MAP sensor. Plug the current feed and run another vacumm line from low in your intake manifold to the MAP sensor. This does help some with the reduced lobe separation.

What cam did you end up going with? Now its time for a nice PCM flash to compliment your mods....

FYI, my cam was designed to improve torque at the expense of horsepower in order to obtain more pulling power. Here are my specs:

Camshaft Specs:
. 210/215 @50 110 lobe sep
. Lift: 462 - 470
. Duration: 288 - 284

So far when I hook onto my 7800 lb fifth wheel the cam seems to be doing what it's supposed to. Especially when I get the rpm's up in the 2300 - 2500 range. Very good power and acceleration at theat point without any hesitation.

For horsepower and getting off the line, I would definitly opt for a different cam grind though.

If you have alot of modds and an aggresivve can I would get the PCM custom flashed, that way it will work with the cam you put in there, even a really aggresive one.
