Default High Flow Cat.?

hey i read the "gutless" post and they were talkin about the cat. not letting the truck come alive. sayin that its takin forever to go from 70-90 or something. well i was wondering how do u know if its really the cat. i mean mine takes a lil bit to get there to but i also have 33" tires. so how do u know if its really "gutless", cuz if u can tell me how, then i may just get a new cat. but also what cat. should i get? whats good?

A bad cat would rattle or lost of mpg some where i seen on this forum where they take the temp before and after the cat (some one will post that). A good cat to go with is a magnaflow thats what i have on my stock exhaust...

I had a bad cat, I put on a magnaflow and mosty where I feel an improvment is in the highway performance...

None of these trucks are going to really put you back in the seat accelerating from 70-90
Mine if you punch it it feels like it just needs some time to get moving, like the first intial second or so it really doesnt climb that much but it pulls to 90, or 100 really pretty fast for a truck.

When i got my truck I timed my 90-100 mph, and I belive it was around 6 seconds which is fairly decent.

Really? I've got an IR temp gun that I use for my RC engines... Any idea what I should look for when taking temp readings before and after the cat?

The whole exhaust on these trucks looks too small to my eye. I changed my oil today "mobil syn 10/30" and got a good look at the little manifolds pipes going into the cat ... I think Im going to replace everything from the block back with a set of headers, high flow cat and a super 44/duel outs.

Its the only way to be sure
