tranny issue, please help
hi guys,
I recently bought a 1500 dodge ram 2001, 66,000 miles, 4x2, 5.9 liter, v8, I can go thru all gears but reverse in fact I even drive it in the highway.
When I put it in reverse I feel like is engaging but it won't move and if I press the gas it will make a grinding sound, does it mean my tranny is dead, any ideas on trying to fix it before take to the shop. I just can't afford to buy a new tranny right now.
Please help!!!!
Thanks.......

Doesnt sound like a quick fix issue to me, tranny's are complex to begin with. I'd try and get some one to look at it asap! Driving it in that condition, I doubt it will last much longer in any gear.[&o]
thanks buc for replying, I guess if I cannot fix it myself, I'll try to resell it for the same amount I paid (2500), of course I'm going to try every quick fix on the internet, if that doesn't work I'll be honest to whoever buys it, not like the guy who sold it to me that told me it just needed a flush and the worse I cannot blame him, is my fault for stupid and prolly because I found it too cheap.

also I was told that I can interchange with cherokee tranny, not sure if true but if it is I have a junk yard close to my house that sells trannys for 75 dollars, of course no warranty and you have to take it apart yourself,,,Crazy's ray
