Default the ram is hickuping

I have a 2000 ram 3.9L automatic trans. when i get going down the road the engine starts hickuping. it cuts out, it does it every know and then. sometimes it wont do it at all and other times it does it 5 times in less than a mile.

the truck was taken to a shop and run on their computer and nothing was wrong. I don't have a code reader yet to check myself.

Well try this, get a paper and pencil then what you do is go to your truck and turn your ignition
ON off ON off ON.
Then, watch your check engine light for the series of flashes with pauses etc.

It will flash TWO numbers in series, then pause, then the next code (two digits as well).
The last two numbers should be 5-5 (two flashes of five times each, slightly longer pause between), that means it is done flashing off the codes.

If you miss things or are not sure how it works, you can do the procedure over as many times as you feel like.

btw, my 86 D-250 used to do that crap, never did figure it out, good thing it never belched or farted thou.

Could be a loose ground wire someplace, which causes the intermittent miss. Not enough to throw a computer code, but enough to frustrate the hell out of you.
