RECON White Lightning
Ordered Smoked Recon cab lights and White Lightning light bar after seeing previous post on the cab lights. I'll tackle the cab lights tomorrow.
I installed the White Lightning today. Simple enough hook-up, it plugs into the trailer plug and the backup lights splice into the truck backup lights. The White Lightning has white lights that come on in reverse. It also has the red LEDs for stop, turn, and running. I'm very satisfied with the red LEDs-consistent lighting across the entire length. I'm VERY dissatifed with the white LEDs-they are brightest at the driver side back-up light where they splice in per the directions and then gradually dim along the length of the bar.
What concerns me is that I really like the looks of the Big Rig amber side mounted lights, they look good in the catalog, but so did the White Lightning! Now I'm thinking they may operate the same as the white lights-brightest where they tap in and gradually dim.
Any experiences or thoughts?
Here are some pics, sorry for the poor quality-pic phone, but you get the idea. White lights wouldn't even show up.

Don't know about the dimming issue, only heard that the leds will burn out sporatically in the future, which many dislike. My questions is how did you install them over the spare tire crank hole?
The plastic is soft enough to use a utility knife or hacksaw to trim the area around the access hole. It's a 90 degree piece of plastic that the LEDs mount to, so it wasn't a problem. Just be careful that if you're using a hacksaw that you don't cut the LEDs!

I would love to know how you end up wiring the black cab lights together and what source they're connected to. Please keep us posted because I want the same black ones on my black truck. The lights are still amber, right?
The light bar plugs into the flat, 4 pole trailer connector.
I wired my cab lights just like jnellydodge describes in his post "Installed the smoked Recon lights". I ordered the smoked lights but the lenses look clear to me. The package was marked as being smoked for the 2001 Dodge. I'm not concerned because I am pleased with the turn-out. Looks like "Billy-Big-Rig"! Next plan is the amber running lights that mount below the doors, then air horn, 53 ft reefer trailer, CB radio, naked girl mud flaps...
Yes, the lights are amber.
