Default vacuum leak

i think there is a leak near my air filter because i pulled it off and the cardboard feeling gasket for it has a huge crack in it
i know my cat is clogged and i am going to unclog it tomorrow (saturday) but, is this leak something to be worried about ?
i guess the previous owner of the truck broke the filter housing the back part doesn't completly seal he/she broke the tabs off of the back
what is the best air filter to replace this with as in aftermarket parts.

the leak way up top where the air cleaner attaches should not make a difference... do you notice one when driving? be sure no plastic parts break and fall into any portion of the intake.

I bought an airraid set up. good price and easy to install.
